BOSTON AND CENTRAL MA NEWBORN AND BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHER
You deserve images that are timeless, beautiful and authentically you
Hi There!
Photographer | Type a list maker | pizza enthusiast
I’m Elizabeth, the Massachusetts based newborn, family and branding photographer behind Elizabeth Piper Photography. This is probably where I should explain that my name is actually Elizabeth Lindblad these days. You see, I started my business back in 2014 before I was married. Don’t worry though, I still answer to either name as well as nicknames.. and my sister’s name! My husband Scott and I live in Bolton, MA with our two daughters Piper and Sawyer. You can often find us venturing to Dallas to spend time with my family or trekking up to Lake Winnipesaukee with Scott’s family. When we’re in town, we’re usually exploring local trails, baking something sweet or perfecting our pizza recipe.
It all started in 2005 in Ms. Sheppard’s intro photography class…
I picked up a Pentax K1000 and realized that creating photographs was basically magic. I still remember the chemical smell of the dark room and watching images appear from nothing. Composition, posing, lighting were all foreign concepts to me and honestly, my work was absolutely terrible but I loved it!
That same year, I was sitting with my grandma looking through years of family pictures (which she preciously stored in an antique metal trash can… I bet you can guess how that ended but that’s a story for another day).
Each picture accompanied a story of people I loved or people I'd only ever heard of. The images that stood out as my favorites were the unposed - my grandparents as newlyweds snuggled on the couch in their first house or my dad splashing in the lake with his sisters. These images felt like a time capsule with a story to tell.
It makes sense that these are now my favorite images to capture. The ones I hope *your* children look back on and can see how you looked at them, laughed with them, loved on them.

These are a few of my favorite things...
-
Pepperoni pizza (preferably from Picco in the South End) but fajitas, queso and a frozen marg are a close second.
-
Ice cold water followed closely by red wine
-
Hands down, the Notes app. I have everything from my groceries list to my business goals to my weekly to do list to my children’s milestones in my notes. Sorry if you were expecting something more exciting but it’s a list maker’s dream!
-
Anywhere with water and sun! I have trouble slowing down and not being productive but put me in the sunshine next to a body of water and I can finally relax.
-
This feels like picking a favorite child but Veep is up there for me. It’s my comfort show that I fall asleep to every night.
A few things you should know about me...
My journey to motherhood wasn’t an easy one but damn am I glad I made it here
There were times I thought that motherhood may not be in the cards and it almost broke me. I wasn’t one of those little girls who dreamed about my wedding, I dreamed about being a mom. After several miscarriages and fertility testing (which frustratingly revealed nothing), we finally welcomed our first baby.

I’m passionate about giving back to low income families
My own family comes from humble roots and I grew up with a “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality. But after working closely with low income mothers and families in Boston, I couldn’t ignore the systemic inequities or my own privilege. A portion of the proceeds from every session goes towards giving back to non-profits supporting low income families. If you have a favorite you like to support, I’d love to hear!
I worked in acute psychiatric settings for almost a decade
I originally moved to Boston to while pursuing my Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine. My goal was to do couples and family therapy but I ended up falling in love with acute psychiatric settings. I’ve worked on both child and adult inpatient units as well as mobile crisis teams. Let’s just say, I bring a lot of transferable skills to my photography sessions!
